Is immigration in America out of control?

I have two ideas on this topic. As most of us experienced in one way or another we came here as immigrant. Some people are living in USA illegally. Others came here legally in different ways: as refugee while others came directly by diversity visa or scholarship, some people came to visit while others are sponsored by their family or friends. The main purpose all these people have in their mind is one of the following which are highly related to each other. These are better life, freedom, education, independence and getting advantage of resources this country has.

 I agree with Zuckerman’s idea. According to Zuckerman the problems of having immigration out of control are lack of education, high dropout, high fertility rates, more segregation, more racial tension, immigrations get involved in gangs and stuck in low paying. These problems affected the economy of this country which is not good for the country and the people themselves.

On the other hand the country officials have full right to do whatever it takes to control the immigration and to keep the this country on its position. It is not out of control because they are not taking any step to control and they are taking people from different countries. Some people came as refugee and after they are get used to the country they turn against the country and the honest people. Some immigrants came here to advance their education. They are really smart. They use the resources which they don’t have in their own country to do what they can’t do in their country and after they finished their research they get back to their own country and attack America. This is not fair. There should be some rules to protect this country from such people. In one way controlling immigration in USA is in the hand of the government parties.

My immigration Experience!

         When we talk about immigration all come to our mind are people came from different cultures, languages and backgrounds. This is very true. My name is Ebisa. I was born in Ethiopia where different cultures and languages dominate for a long time. In Ethiopian they are 83 different languages spoken. The largest ethnic and linguistic group is Oromo. I’m from this ethnic group which I am proud of it always. I like the respect, language, food and love people share with each other. Most of the time when I think about my country I wish if I live there my entire life  because even though life is hard and people go through a lot of challenges they are still surviving and sharing what they have and moving forward to be part of the future.

         I came to United States of America December 2009 which is almost two years. Within these two years I experienced a lot of things. Even though things are not the way I expected when I was in back home; however, days after days, months after months and years after years I have been gaining a lot of experience  for my present life and future. I know it is hard for immigrant to be start new life, new culture and new language. We have to help our self; we have to help our families at the same time. Working, going to school, getting used to this new culture and having social life with a people takes a lot of time and effort. I do remember when I first started my school I used to work form 4:00 pm to 1:00 am which is full time job and full time school and since I took bus I got home after 2:30 sometimes. Then I had to do my homework and study for a quiz and test. I had class at 8:00 am in the morning. Sometimes I sleep only two hours which I never did when I was in my country. It is totally different from my past experience. Sometimes I used to sleep in bus while I was going to work and I passed my bus stop. One day I found my self in downtown St Paul the bus driver yelling at me. I was 30 minutes late for my work. 

         One way it is good to experience such challenges because I learned a lot from it.On the other hand it makes me tired,busy and sometimes my friends complain a lot because they want to have some times with me but I don't even get time to hang out with them. Over all it is good and for good to because one day I hope every thing will change and I will get some time for my self and for my friends. Thank you for taking your time and read my experience.
